Zello Walkie Talkie, Zello Channels, Zello Friends

We first reported on Zello bringing their push to talk app to Windows Phone back in June (read the original article) but since then, we haven’t heard anything more regarding its release.

Thankfully, one of our users kept their eyes open and tipped us to the app’s existence in beta, which means Windows Phone users are finally able to chat with all of their Zello friends after being left out of the fun for awhile.

Zello brings over 200,000 active channels to Windows Phone

Zello currently has over 40 million users worldwide. Users can participate in conversations with up to 300 participants using the app’s unique “channels” feature. To date there are over 200,000 active Zello channels devoted to a variety of topics, with over 2 million users online a day. The app is popular in Europe, the Middle East, Mexico, and Latin America.

Like Voxer, Zello offers an Enterprise version of its application that can be utilized with a subscription fee, called Zello@Work. The Zello@Work service is provided in partnership with T-Mobile to provide PTT to some of its customers. The service is free for up to 5 users, with a small subscription fee beyond that.

Interested users can sign up for the beta here.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
