It has been a couple of days since the New iPad was released to the international masses. Whether you were part of the “stand in line for 6 hours” crowd or you decided to wait a couple of days so you could walk into a store and buy the iPad in 6 minutes, you have had enough time now with the device to come to some sort of opinion.
Is it better than the iPad 2? From what we’ve seen, this answer is somewhat selective. Many people don’t notice the difference in the screen resolution, while many say they do.
Watching the device in action when held next to an iPad 2, I honestly did notice a difference, though it was a slight difference (and it was while playing a recorded video, so the quality of the video itself could have been a factor). The screen seemed a bit brighter and sharper. I used the New iPad to read an article on TruTower and noticed the lettering and photos did not seem as fuzzy. For me at least, it was easier to read.
This is, of course, not taking into consideration that the 4G LTE on the iPad can only be used in the United States at this time (no 4G LTE roaming internationally), but that does not affect Tru Voice Over IP customers, Tru SIM customers (who use 3G), or Wi-Fi only customers.
While my loyalty will still be to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, the new iPad does offer some new features and noticeably better quality (although it isn’t worth standing in line for 6 hours just to have it two days earlier). What say you?
