Symbian may no longer be getting new devices, but the good people at Fring are out to prove that the platform still has plenty of life left in it.
Fring version 7.00 for Symbian adds the capability to communicate with Fring users on iOS and Android devices (and is likely to work when Windows Phone is added to the mix).
The app update also brings faster registration using phone number in place of usernames and passwords and an assortment of improvements that make the Fring VoIP and messaging service both faster and easier.
If you’re visiting TruTower on a Symbian mobile device, you can find the download link for Nokia devices here. For other smartphones, use this link.
It’s worth noting that when you first upgrade to this new version, your credit will show automatically, but if you’re installing from scratch, you’ll have to restore your credit manually.
