Tru Truphone VoIP App, Tru Truphone GSM SIM, Low Cost International Global Calling

Truphone has established its business sales base in the San Francisco Bay Area, complementing their previous establishment of their U.S. headquarters in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park and legacy Technology Center in Newark, New Jersey.

“Truphone chose the San Francisco area because of its location on the Pacific Rim and its role as a hub for companies engaged in international telecommunications, internet applications and biotech, which can serve as both customers and sources of talent,” said John M. Badillo, Truphone’s Vice President of Business Sales for the Americas. “As Truphone expands its customer base in the Americas, the company will be hiring additional sales executives in the area, as well as managers of sales operations support and service delivery.”

The global carrier is also looking to fill some executive sales seats in other major U.S. cities as it ramps up to sell its international GSM and VoIP services to businesses of all sizes.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Jan. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Truphone, the pioneering international mobile phone operator, today announced that it has established its business sales base for the Americas in the technology rich San Francisco Bay Area.

The base of sales operations complements Truphone’s United States headquarters in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park opened last year and its legacy Technology Center in Newark, N.J.

Truphone’s Bay Area presence is led by John M. Badillo, Vice President of Business Sales for the Americas. He said, “Truphone chose the San Francisco area because of its location on the Pacific Rim and its role as a hub for companies engaged in international telecommunications, internet applications and biotech, which can serve as both customers and sources of talent.”

Badillo continued, “As Truphone expands its customer base in the Americas, the company will be hiring additional sales executives in the area, as well as managers of sales operations support and service delivery.” The company is also filling executive sales positions in other major U.S. cities as it ramps up to sell its services to businesses of all sizes.

Truphone offers business-class voice, data and SMS service in more than 200 countries, it helps businesses avoid bill shock and reduce costs of international mobile roaming, and improves connectivity and the frequency of communications between people across international borders.

Mobile users who switch to Truphone no longer need to carry multiple phones, change SIM cards or stop using their phones when traveling internationally. The service delivers typical cost savings for businesses of between 30-90 percent compared to other providers.

The company supports leading smartphones and uses innovations such as an intelligent network, a unique multi-identity SIM card and its own “least cost roaming” approach to offer significant savings to business people making calls,
sending texts and accessing data networks when home or abroad. By comparison, most traditional wireless carriers only use a single-identity SIM with their networks.

“We are focused on business people who travel internationally and offer them a compelling alternative to other providers, particularly when it comes to voice and data roaming,” said Badillo. “Our mobile innovations and ‘least cost roaming’ approach enable international travelers to stay connected so they can be more productive while abroad without the fear of bill shock.”

Truphone initially gained attention in 2006 with the introduction of the world’s first mobile VoIP application. In 2007, it made history by demonstrating the first VoIP application on the Apple iPhone before launching a string of industry firsts starting in 2008 with applications for Apple’s iPhone, iPad and the Google Android line of smartphones. Truphone has since expanded its offerings to include GSM-based voice, text and data mobile services.
