Samsung‘s Duos phones are great. Dual-SIM technology allows local SIMs to be used alongside services like Tru SIM to help cut costs and make keeping in touch easier and more convenient while traveling. Many users of the Duos have been clamoring for a 2012 update, and now Samsung looks to deliver that update (with a little Galaxy S III flare, of course).
The Galaxy S III-looking Duos will bring a 4-inch WVGA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon MSM7227A chip or 512MB of RAM, 5 megapixel back camera with VGA front camera, and 4GB of internal storage to the table, which is noticeably less powerful than the Galaxy S III. But power is not the point of the Duos. As the name implies, the Duos’ advantage can be found in packing that dual-SIM technology.
Android 4.O Ice Cream Sandwich will be on board for the new devices when they launch before the end of summer in India. If you want to take advantage of the dual-SIMs and have a mini-Galaxy S III device with which to impress your friends, it may be worth importing a Samsung Duo of your own.’
