London 2012 Olympics, Banned in the Olympic Games, London Olympics Ban List

If you thought you were going to bask warmly in a Tru VoIP paradise filled with rainbows, pearls, candy, and a continuous supply of awesome — all brought to you via your 3G-powered wireless access point — think again. The IOC is gunning for that mobile hotspot you keep in your pocket. Of course the list of prohibited items includes some obvious stuff: knives, guns, CS spray, explosives and stunning devices.

“Personal / private wireless access points and 3G hubs (smart devices such as Android phones, iPhone and tablets are permitted inside venues, but must not be used as wireless points to connect multiple devices)”

This marks the first time that wireless access points have been banned from the Olympics. Best stick to your phone’s dedicated data connection.
