If you’re a Snapchat user, you undoubtedly know the appeal of the app that popularized the “disappearing” message, and it’s reportedly looking to generate a whopping $50 million in revenue this year thanks to newly launched in-app initiatives that began with the launch of in-app ads late last year.
While some ads might cost companies a lot, the engagement with users has been a high priority for not only Snapchat, but also Tango, Kik, and other messaging platforms.
With an existing user base of about 100 million, Snapchat’s popularity has been growing steadily since its launch.

With $50 million in revenue in its sights for this year, Snapchat says it wants to hit $200 million in revenue by 2016 with higher spending on political campaigns ahead of US Presidential elections next year being a high source of this revenue.
Snapchat CEO, Evan Spiegel, has also been looking for a new financial officer for the company to keep the messaging platform expanding, with Wall Street Banker, Imran Khan topping the list as a leading candidate according to some rumors.
