International telcommunications provider Top Connect, which is well known for its TravelSIM GSM service, has revealed its plans and business targets for next year.
After successfully completing its goal of 5 million users by the end of the year way back in October, Top Connect is looking to expand that to 6.7 million by the end of December 2015. The count currently stands at 5.2 million, making TravelSIM the largest international prepaid carrier.
“Top Connect is setting itself ambitious but realistic targets for 2015”
“Clearly, Top Connect is setting itself ambitious but realistic targets for 2015,” says Mikhail Markin, Head of TravelSim’s Product Development. “Top Connect founded the roaming card industry and the year 2015 will see further TravelSim roaming innovations coming to market.”
Top Connect says that TravelSIM has saved customers an “unprecedented $380 million” or “up to 85 percent” in global roaming charges compared to standard “national” carriers. Most of the company’s customers include travelling business executives and holidaymakers of either direct or indirect association through the company’s network of global distributors.
These distributors earn recurring revenues of up to 30% off TravelSim’s call and data charges, and the company expects “many new distributors” to sign up for the service next year.
One of the unique features provided by TravelSIM is its agreement with Skype, in which calls to TravelSIM phone numbers are offered free of cost. There are also agreements with “tier-one” GSM carriers in more than 140 countries.
