KakaoTalk has been available for Windows Phone for a long time, and now there are two versions of the app available.
The first version is the one we have been using for quite some time. It can still be installed and used. In fact, it was last updated on October 27 with some bug fixes, so it’s still quite recent. The other version, launched today exclusively for Windows Phone 8.1, rebuilds KakaoTalk from the ground up for the latest mobile OS, which should hopefully make it a better performing app than its original counterpart.
With the new app, you can enjoy free chats anywhere around the world, send photos, videos, voice notes and files, express yourself with emoticons and stickers, and enjoy cross platform messaging on Windows and Mac.
The new app could also signify improved support from KakaoTalk for Microsoft’s mobile platform. Again, the primary difference between the original application and the new version is the fact that the new app is exclusive to Windows Phone 8.1 users. In the meantime, you can download the new KakaoTalk app here.
