Skype for Windows, Windows Desktop version of Skype, Skype VoIP and IM

It’s been a few weeks since we reported on the redesigned version of Skype for Windows Desktop and the day has finally arrived for the app’s official release.

“You will enjoy the best of Skype,” the company posted on its official blog.” An easier way to chat, share and see photos, message and video calls side by side, and free group video conversations.”

With the new side-by-side UI design, you can more easily multi-task on a voice or video call, which allows you to share messages, photos or files without ever leaving your Skype call. There’s also larger emoticons.

Free group video calls, which launched this past summer on Windows 8.1 tablets and 2-in-1 devices, also make a debut on Skype for Windows desktop,

If you haven’t already done so, you can download Skype for desktop here. What do you think of the redesign?
