Skype friends, find Skypers, Find skype contact usernames

Finding your friends on Skype has always been a bit of a process, but with its latest update for Android, the Skype team is making it easier to find your friends and family on the popular VoIP and IM platform, which now has 300 million users.

The new feature, announced today, will be rolling out with Skype 5.0 for Android. “In the coming months,” according to Skype, you’ll be prompted to verify your phone number, which will enable the application to scan your address book and automatically add friends. From there, the app will automatically look for contact matches between Skype and your address book.

The feature will also work for those who have Microsoft accounts, and will automatically add your Outlook or People app contacts.

True, this feature has been core to many calling and messaging apps for quite some time now, but anything that helps us group share our messages with even more friends counts as a welcome addition.
