In early October, Skype revealed plans to update its apps to sync across all devices, and the service has finally been realized, thereby ending arguably the biggest flaw in the calling and messaging service.
Before today, the Skype mobile app would often send users alerts for new messages that had already been read on the desktop version, but now this problem has been rectified according to the Skype team. Skype chats are now synced across all your Skype-powered devices. The team has been pushing out updates over the last few weeks.
Messages will be delivered even when contacts are offline
This update also makes sure your messages are sent to contacts whether they’re online or not, which has been a glaring issue with the app in the past, and has prevented many users from chatting with friends across the globe. Chats would not be delivered if your computer was turned off or your device was disconnected from the internet.
Even more changes are planned for the future, including notification enhancements that will only show notifications for the device you’re currently using rather than all your devices at once. Syncing of the Favorites list is also planned.
