If this leaked roadmap is accurate, then it has revealed Microsoft‘s plans for many of its forthcoming products, including Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.
On the Windows Phone front, the roadmap is fairly vague. As you can see in the screenshot below, there’s a square, which means general availability, somewhere around the latter part of 2012 marked as “future investments.” This could be the Tango updates for the Mango release of the Windows Phone operating system.
It seems more likely to me, however, that this square marks the release of Windows Phone 8 (Apollo), which Microsoft has told some of its partners (and rumors have continually leaked) will be out before the end of this year.
“We often provide forward-looking information to our partners and customers under our confidentially agreements with them,” a Microsoft spokesperson told ZDNet. “This information contains our best estimates and is, in no way, final or definitive.”
