BlackBerry Messenger, BBM, BBM for Android and iPhone

For many BlackBerry Messenger fans who have been anticipating the arrival of the instant messaging service on both Android and iOS following its failed launch back in September, the wait has become quite excruciating.

Thankfully, though, according to reports, BlackBerry has redesigned BBM for Android and is now testing the application in a closed beta, expecting the application to launch “within days.”

This information comes after an open letter to consumers from the company, ensuring that the app was still on the way.

The latest beta has apparently had some changes made from the previous versions that go above and beyond the bug fixes that were expected initially, including a new welcome screen explaining the app notifications, the ability to disable the persistent notification running in the status bar, and some UI enhancements.

Unfortunately, there’s still no mention of a release date, but knowing the app is in beta is definitely a good sign. We’ll keep everyone updated on the latest BlackBerry Messenger news right here. For now, let us know in the comments if you’re still waiting patiently.
