One of the most fun and fundamental parts of any social application is the ability to share those unforgettable, rare moments through pictures and videos. Of course, the same is true of Kik Messenger.
We’ve already touched on sending voice and video messages with K*Tok as well as Recorder for Kik, but these aren’t built into the core Kik application itself like picture messaging is, which we’ll be looking at today.
To ensure that you’re not going to run into any troubles when sending and receiving pictures, make sure you’ve downloaded the most recent version.
The first thing we’ll look at is saving pictures you’ve received from your Kik friends. The first thing you’ll need to do is open the conversation in which you’ve received the pic and tap on the image itself so you’re seeing it in full screen. From here, the process changes depending on which version you happen to be using.
Those on iOS can simply tap the Save button in the top right corner of the screen to download the image into their gallery. If you’re running Android, simply tap the photo again. You’ll then be prompted to Save with a button in the middle of the screen. Windows Phone users tap the three dots at the bottom right of the screen and then tap save to gallery.
If you want to share a picture with your friends, the process is also quite simple and there are multiple ways to do it. While you can start the process from within your photo gallery itself, the easiest way is to start in Kik.
If you’re on Android or iPhone, tap the “+” symbol in the bottom left and then tap on your image gallery. Finally, select the photo you’d like to share and then hit the send button to the right of the conversation field. Windows Phone users tap the paper clip icon second from the right on the very bottom of the screen. After that, the process is the same: select the image you’d like to share and then hit Send on the bottom left.
