If you’re using Truphone’s international roaming solution, you’ll be happy to know that Truphone has just announced the availability of its services in Hong Kong.
The launch in Hong Kong marks Truphone’s first ever expansion into the Asian market and the company’s fifth supported country after the UK, the USA, Australia, and the Netherlands, also referred to as the “Truphone Zone,” though the service works in over 220 countries worldwide.
“With Truphone, we now enable our customers to have a virtual local presence together with a Hong Kong phone number, making it easier to stay in touch with customers and suppliers in Asia,” said Alex Blinko, the managing director of Truphone Australia.
Like many other global roaming services, Truphone can help both business-level and consumer level users stay connected no matter where they are in the world with calling, texting, and data.
Truphone views the expansion in Hong Kong as a great boon for businesses due to Hong Kong being a “financial hub” for “multinational corporations looking to expand” into the region.
“Beyond fighting bill shock and relying on Wi-Fi when roaming for all customers, multinational business will be able to people from different countries onto one global, multi-currency bill,” says Dr Alex Ip, senior vice president for Asia Pacific, Truphone. “Truphone is the only network which can provide this global service to enable customers to truly connect their businesses globally.”
In addition, the SIM was also launched in Poland and Germany, bringing the grand total of Truphone SIM countries to seven, along with the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the Netherlands, which launched back in April.
New country launches are always a good thing to see; between the global SIM cards like Truphone and app-based free calls and messages, the world seems to get smaller and smaller with each passing day.
