If you’ve always wanted to use ooVoo with additional services or applications, or you’ve wanted to integrate them into your own, now’s your chance. Oovoo has unleashed its SDK upon the world, enabling developers to take advantage of its 80 million strong user base to integrate with their own applications and services. By integrating ooVoo’s new SDK, brands can add high quality cloud-based video chat abilities to their iOS and Android apps.
The SDK is available for free on the ooVoo website and can be utilized for free and unlimited with an ad-supported plan or with a paid per video minute plan that does not include any ads. The SDK supports up to 12 simultaneous live video streams per session, with a higher number available upon request.
“Imagine what it would be like if you could video chat on a dating site or interpret your opponent’s expression in a poker video game,” said Jay Samit, president of ooVoo. “Face-to-face communication really changes the shared experience across all industries, and that’s why we’re thrilled to put ooVoo’s SDK into developers’ hands today.”
ooVoo’s developer kit includes everything that software developers need to seamlessly add video chat to their software, including sample multi-way video chat application on iOS and Android with complete source code. With 100,000 new users daily, ooVoo is a social video chat hub that works across all platforms including iPhones, iPads, Android mobile phones and tablets, desktop computers, and Facebook. In addition to video chat, users can also exchange text messages, send video messages, and watch YouTube videos together.
ooVoo is planning on releasing a revamped update to its VoIP app later this summer, but an official release date has not yet been announced.
