DOODAD, the new data only travel SIM card service, is celebrating its three month anniversary today.
The service launched on April 3 in the United States, then expanded to Canada a little more than two weeks later. Global shipping was hinted repeatedly over the last few months, and the company has announced that international shipping is now active as of today.
This follows the launch of 29 additional DOODAD roaming countries and EU roaming price drop that occurred earlier this week.
“We make it possible for travelers to stay connected abroad, without worrying about a huge bill on their return,” said Sarah Neill, Co-founder and CEO of DOODAD. “Just put a DOODAD SIM in your unlocked smartphone or tablet, add some DOO-DATA and you’re good to go, to look up maps, find a place to eat, and stay in contact.”
“Data roaming is notoriously expensive, so it’s no surprise that people are looking for affordable ways to stay connected,” explained Ryan Cardone, Product Manager. “We started receiving requests from all over the world, which is why we prioritized the launch of international shipping.”
In case you weren’t aware, the DOODAD SIM card itself is free, while shipping and handling is a flat rate of $3 USD to anywhere in the world. It’s already preactivated, so you simply pop it into your device, set the APN to “doodad” and you’re ready to go.
