If you’re living in Indonesia or Vietnam and you’ve been waiting for KakaoTalk to launch its social gaming platform that’s been being tested for months, you’ll be happy to know that today is the day; KakaoTalk is launching the platform in the aforementioned two countries, which include games in the Indonesian and Vietnamese languages.
The platform, which launched in South Korea last August and Japan in February, is launching in the two countries with five games initially — HotDogStudio’s Everyone’s Game for Kakao, Com2uS’s Tiny Pang for Kakao, LIVEZEN’s Astrowings for Kakao, GameZen’s BirdPang for Kakao, and CraveMob’s Hunter Cat for Kakao — but will bring a number of additional games in the near future.
It’s no surprise to see the 80-million user-strong KakaoTalk focus its efforts on the Asian market; it’s been battling with LINE, WhatsApp, and WeChat for the top spot in the area.
KakaoTalk is expected to release a PC version of its app later this month, but it’s not yet known if the games and stickers from the mobile version will eventually carry over.
