Who says carriers and mobile VoIP and messaging apps can’t get along? Viber is taking the extra mile by announcing an exclusive partnership with Mobilink, a Pakistan-based mobile carrier, to provide users with unlimited access to Viber’s mobile app. The deal will allow users to send unlimited text messages and make unlimited HD quality calls to other Viber users.
“We strive to make Viber available for as many users as we can and this new partnership will help us provide free calls and messaging to another large group of users. We have experienced major growth in Pakistan and it is emerging as a strategic market for us” said Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber Media. “By teaming up with Mobilink, we are offering our users in Pakistan an incredible opportunity to enjoy unlimited calls and messaging with an affordability that’s difficult to match.”
In a deal that looks to expand the mobile VoIP provider’s presence in the Pakistani market, customers can subscribe to a prepaid plan that provides the unlimited access to Viber’s messaging and call service.
“Mobilink has been a leader in one of the most dynamic telecom markets on the globe, both in terms of subscriber numbers and innovation for over a decade. The number of users who trust our data network for their day to day communications continues to grow and our attractive mobile Internet offers make it possible for subscribers to stay connected on the go,” said Farid Ahmad, VP Marketing, Mobilink. “Our partnership with Viber is another means of innovating the ways in which Mobilink’s customers communicate with each other.”
