WorldSIM Travel SIM Card, Global carriers, International roaming costs

International network specialist WorldSIM has just launched its Philco 7” 3G tablet which it says was “designed with travel in mind.”

The WorldSIM Philco 3G is a seven inch Android tablet that has two front facing speakers and a display that should work excellent for travelers who like to watch movies and play games while they’re out and about. The tablet also features a front and back camera with flash and an expandable Micro SD memory card slot to allow you to save even more travel memories on your device beyond the 8GB of on-board storage that comes with the Philco 3G.

Of course, the Philco 3G also comes with a free pre-loaded Data Roaming SIM so travellers can get online for less practically anywhere in the world, and 3G connectivity means the tablet can make and receive calls for free from most popular destinations, as well as provide a cost effective data connection.

Lastly, the Philco 3G operates on Android 4.1 Jellybean software with a 1gGHz Quad-core processor and comes with 1GB RAM.

“there is a lack of good quality cost effective [tablet] options for savvy travellers”

“The tablet market still has huge growth potential, with IDC reporting an 11% increase in the second quarter of 2014,” said Arif Reza, CEO of WorldSIM. “Unfortunately there is a lack of good quality cost effective options for savvy travellers, which is why we launched the Philco 3G. Available for less than £200 the tablet is designed for people on the move who want to stay entertained and connected to friends and family without the worry of excessive roaming charges.”

According to a recent WorldSIM survey, 52 percent of people admitted they don’t use their phone or tablet when abroad due to rising roaming fees. The fact that the Philco 3G tablet includes a WorldSIM travel SIM card built in should be enough to alleviate some of that worry.

The WorldSIM Philco tablet is available to pre-order via WorldSIM’s website at a price of £199.99, which includes the WorldSIM travel SIM and £20 credit to get you started.
