Microsoft has just launched a new smartphone that’s perfect for heavy Facebook Messenger users who aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a new Windows Phone or other smartphone device.

Dubbed the Nokia 215, Microsoft calls the handset its “most affordable Internet-ready entry level phone yet.” The device comes in both single- and dual-SIM configurations and is being targeted at first time mobile phone users in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe.

The phone’s dual-SIM option makes it perfect for users who are also looking to use travel SIM cards while they’re roaming abroad while also keeping their primary carrier SIM loaded in the device.

It’s clear Microsoft is making good use of Nokia’s devices and services division it acquired last year. The Nokia 215 is priced at just $29 USD before taxes or subsidies and also features other smartphone-esq features like Twitter access, “SLAM” file-transfer technology, Opera Mini browser, and Bing search.
