If you’re using WhatsApp Messenger on the BlackBerry 10 OS, you’ll find a new update in the Beta Zone waiting for you to download.
The new version 2.11.1016.2 makes some notable improvements while also adding some new features, including BlackBerry Maps support and more.
The full changelog is as follows:
- Added a chats-list filter drop-down.
- Added support for sharing locations from BlackBerry Maps.
- Group and Contact info screens now show more media thumbs.
- Miscellaneous fixes and updates.
BlackBerry’s own BBM is one of the most popular apps in some areas around the world and had 91 million users at last count, which puts it way behind many other messaging apps including WhatsApp, which has 600 million users, but still pushes it to rank among the world’s top chat apps.
