Skype on Kindle phone, Amazon Fire phone apps, Kindle phone chat

There have already been a number of calling and messaging apps that have announced themselves as coming to Amazon’s Fire Phone when it launches this month.

Tango first announced its availability on June 18, and was followed by TextMe just a day later, with Kik announcing its support a day after that.

“the customized Skype 3D icon and notification badge show Skype’s use of Fire phone’s innovative Dynamic Perspective technology”

Now, a little more than a month after Kik, Skype has announced that it will also make an appearance in the 3D-icon-laden device. Like the other apps, the Skype app will be the Android version with a few Fire Phone enhancements:

“Through a widget that is visible from Fire’s Carousel, users can easily see their chats and notifications at a glance, without having to launch the Skype app and open chats with a one-click action. Finally, the customized Skype 3D icon and notification badge show Skype’s use of Fire phone’s innovative Dynamic Perspective technology.”

You won’t have to worry about downloading it either; Skype will be coming pre-installed on the device, which should make things a little easier for those who utilize it to stay in touch with their family and friends while they’re shopping Amazon for the latest deals. Of course, Skype has also committed to long-term updates to improve the Fire Phone experience as well.
