Snapchat, Snapchat Android, Snapchat App

After giving users a sneak peak at special location and event based stickers, users of the Snapchat app saw the first example at large of how exciting the new Our Story feature can be, albeit not in sticker form.

Users received a surprise collection of curated Snaps from Brazil in the hours leading up to the match between Argentina and Germany that showed how people were enjoying their time before the final. After the game started at 3 p.m. ET, more Snaps were added to the “Our Story” collection by an account called “Rio Live.”

The account, while not promoted, seemed to strike a chord with users who were watching the game. The account takes all the posts from users and puts them into one large World Cup bin for 24 hours, similar to Snapchat’s My Story feature.

Our Story was first seen back in June during the Electric Daisy Carnival festival in Las Vegas, but this is the first time it’s been used by such a wide audience.

Were you able to attend the World Cup in Brazil and send your snaps to Rio Live? Let us know in the comments below or post your thoughts in the Forums.
