Nimbuzz, SIP VoIP, Wireless phone calls

After launching stickers on Android and then bringing the stickers to desktop, Nimbuzz for Windows Phone is due an update itself lest it fall behind the other versions. Thankfully, India’s star communication app is not about to let that happen and just launched version 1.1.8.1 on the platform (interestingly, the last two numbers sync up perfectly with Windows Phone 8.1’s release to developers this week).

On the new Nimbuzz for Windows Phone 8, you can now add other SIP accounts to make affordable VoIP calls, giving you more freedom and choice that can greatly extend your international long distance savings. Simply add your SIP account to the Nimbuzz app to start making calls.

Additional features included in this update consist of:

  • Allows you to Record and share Videos with friends.
  • Copy/Forward/Delete functionality for chat messages.
  • Improved File transfer.
  • Quick scrolling in chat window.
  • Bug Fix and Overall performance optimization.

“Nimbuzz has always been about connecting people and binding relationships together,” Nimbuzz said about the new update. “Communication extends beyond messaging and calling. Users now want to share their priceless emotions and moments with pictures and videos. Taking a que from this evolving communication need, Nimbuzz on Windows Phone 8 now allows users to not only transfer images but also shoot videos and share them with others on the platform.”

Download the latest Nimbuzz here. If you happen to have Windows Phone 8.1 like we do and you’re not yet seeing the update in the Windows Phone Store, you can check for the update manually by opening the store, tapping on Settings and then tapping the Check for updates button.
