Viber App for BlackBerry 7, VoIP Apps for BB7, Voice Over IP and Messaging Free

Viber has certainly seen its popularity explode lately, including Brazil, where it gained 2 million users during the month of February. Viber had been marketing itself in the country with a promotion running through March 10 that enabled free voice calls to landlines according to local daily publication Folha de Sao Paulo, which also reported that the number of users in Brazil has now reached 12 million, representing a 20 percent increase in the user base in Brazil alone. Viber may consider expanding the aforementioned promotion if it’s considered a success.

Viber is reportedly reconsidering a BB10 version of their calling and messaging app

In addition, though Viber had confirmed back in October that it had no plans to support BlackBerry 10 (which was contrary to an exclusive interview we had with the company last summer), the company now looks like it could be changing its mind:

Of course the company hasn’t confirmed a date for release, but it’s very possible that this change of heart might be a result of its recent acquisition by Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten, but this isn’t confirmed.
