WhatsApp for Windows Phone, WP Live Tiles, WinPhone messaging apps

WhatsApp Messenger is recently surpassed 400 million active users — many of whom are using Microsoft’s mobile platform.

Soon, these users will be getting a nice little something extra according to a recent tweet by @Nawzil8, who has been accurate on numerous occasions. Apparently, WhatsApp is currently beta testing a “media autodownload” feature which allows you to automatically download audio, video, and image files from messages.

The auto-download feature can be disabled by default

As with many of the features available for WhatsApp, you can disable the auto download by default and only have it occur while connected to a WiFi connection.

No word yet on when we will see these new features make it into the public build, but we’ve seen features leak out just a few weeks before release in the past, so it’s very likely to hit the Windows Phone platform soon. As always, we’ll be sure to keep you informed.
