Voxox for Android, Voxox for iOS, Messaging and calling apps

We all know how fragmented the OTT messaging space has become, but there are quite a few apps who deliver innovative solutions that help drive the space toward a certain point of singularity. Apps such as Voxox who just launched its cloud-based messaging app on Android devices as of today (Check out our overview article here).

In a nutshell, Voxox for Android and Voxox for iOS unify voice, text, chat, video and content sharing in an all-in-one application. Users of Voxox for Android and Voxox for iOS can communicate within the application for free. They can also send messages to users outside of Voxox using traditional SMS channels at a fraction of what it would cost to send a traditional text message. Voxox provides users with a free US phone number to ensure they can always receive calls and texts from friends and family for free, regardless of carrier, operating system or device type.

“Today’s smartphone user wants access to advanced messaging options, without being forced into a walled garden where they can only call or chat with their friends if they are also using the same app. Voxox solves this challenge, delivering a rich communication experience, while also eliminating the traditional communication barriers that have plagued other OTT messaging providers,” said Bryan Hertz, CEO, Voxox. “Our mission at Voxox is to simplify and enhance the way people communicate. We’re excited to empower Android and iOS users to finally capitalize on a unified messaging experience, with no friend left behind, by using our application.”

As mentioned, Android users can look forward to free calls and messages with other Voxox users across both their own platform as well as iOS, as well as a free mobile number and calling and messaging to landlines. Additional features include:

  • Photo and video sharing
  • Location and map sharing
  • Offline messages
  • Friend finder
  • Profile
  • Voicemail to text
  • Reach Me Anywhere (call forwarding)

Other features include those that can be performed during a call such as call recording, transferring, and call conferencing.

Android isn’t the only OS getting some Voxox love today. The company also released the latest version of Voxox for iOS, which brings improved back-end architecture and a streamlined user interface. Another notable change is its compatibility with iOS 7.
