We love our messaging app-based games, and those on KakaoTalk’s gaming platform, which in July reached 30 million total subscribers, are no exception.
Game Insight has just announced that its 2020: My Country, the sequel to the publisher’s popular My Country game for iOS and Android, will come to the KakaoTalk platform in South Korea. 2020: My Country lets players build a futuristic city complete with customizable buildings, disaster events, quests and more.
“Game Insight is thrilled to join Kakao as part of this new venture,” said Darya Trushkina, Game Insight VP Business Development, via a company release. “Of course, while we release all our mobile titles on major application stores, we’re always searching for new partners, new channels, and new audiences with whom to share our games. South Korea’s dedicated base of smart, savvy players represents an extremely important audience for Game Insight, which is why we’re so excited about debuting on the Kakao game platform with one of our newest and most highly polished mobile game titles to date, 2020: My Country for Kakao.”
Game Insight joins the likes King, Gameloft, and others who have published games on the KakaoTalk platform. King Released Candy Crush Saga for the platform on September 14, while Gameloft’s Dispicable Me: Minion Rush was announced on September 18. Game publisher Outplay also brought Bubble Blaze to KakaoTalk earlier in the month, and other developers are expected to release their own wares in the near future.
