We’ve all thought at least once in our lives that connecting with someone living in another country and forming a friendship would be a very fun experience, but one problem has remained for many users: the language barrier. Many apps make strides to break down these barriers, and the folks at imo.im have decided to go global with their application as well.
imo.im is launching translations of its Android apps into 30 languages, including Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese. The imo team is also taking requests for further language additions, with plans to add as many as possible in the near future.
Translations will improve imo users’ experience so that they can stay better connected with friends and families, regardless of the language they speak. The user interface will also be translated in your preferred language, so you won’t have to deal with one language for the app itself, and another for your conversations.
Launching with these new languages on Android furthers imo’s goal for stepping into the global ring and providing the simplest way for consumers to connect.
For those using iPhone and iPad, don’t worry: We’re told that these language enhancements will be coming to your devices in the coming weeks.
