BlackBerry Messenger, BBM, BBM Voice

BlackBerry Messenger‘s cross-platform play to the iOS and Android crowd is no secret. We’ve known about the company’s intent since it was announced back in May. What has been kept secret thus far, however, is an official release date.

For the time being, this will have to remain a secret but the user guide for the upcoming BBM for iOS was discovered online in all of its 13-page glory (PDF).

Unfortunately, no images can be found, even though we can naturally infer that the app will look similar to its BB10 counterpart. The user guide details instructions on how to create a BlackBerry account and more. There was also even a splash page published apparently, so it’s probable a release is just around the corner. The company released BBM beta invites for both Android and iOS earlier this month with a promise of a summer release. It was previously hinted that the Android version could come as early as September.

What we do know is that the upcoming BBM will require iOS 6 or higher and the Android version will likely stick to 2.3 or higher like most apps in Google Play. Another thing is also for sure: BlackBerry Messenger will certainly have a lot of competition to prove itself against.
