Tango Road Riot, Tango app, Games for Tango

Not to be outdone by WeChat’s recent social gaming platform launch and existing game platforms from LINE, KakaoTalk, and Kik Messenger,, Tango, which is the leading messaging and entertainment platform in the United States, has launched its first original game — “Road Riot for Tango” — which marks the sixth game to launch since Tango released its content and entertainment platform to developers in early June.

“We created ‘Road Riot for Tango’ to test and improve the social and technological aspects of our gaming platform for third-party developers, and to make the best gaming experience for our 130M+ members,” said Eric Setton, co-founder and CTO, Tango. “By walking a day in the developers’ shoes and seeing what it’s like to develop for the Tango platform, we’re able to quickly evolve the service to offer the best social messaging platform for games.”

“By seeing what it’s like to develop for the Tango platform, we’re able to evolve the service to offer the best social messaging platform for games.”

“Road Riot for Tango” is a Spy Hunter-esk game that was developed by the Tango’s game development studio in Austin, Texas. Members that play “Road Riot for Tango” via the Tango app can also enjoy social gaming features:

  • Compete with Tango friends for the highest ranking on weekly leaderboards
  • Broadcast bragging rights via Tango messages when your friend’s high score
  • Invite friends to play via a Tango message

Developing this game has also enabled Tango to make notable modifications to its SDK to benefit developers:

“With the experience we gained by launching ‘Road Riot for Tango,’ we’ve already implemented changes in the SDK that help game developers take advantage of the unique features and benefits of our platform,” said Richard Rabbat, Head of Platform, Tango. “Developers now have access to complete backend services, as well as easier ways to run leaderboards, access to game analytics, and more social features that leverage our messaging service.”

Tango players can also look forward to Roulette Live, Blackjack Live, Jetpack Jinx, Dream Bakery, and Candy Block Breaker.

Alongside “Road Riot for Tango,” Tango players can look forward to Roulette Live, Blackjack Live, Jetpack Jinx, Dream Bakery, and Gameloft’s newly-released Candy Block Breaker. The former three were developed for both Android and iOS while the latter two are exclusive to iOS devices for now. All of these titles, of course, include the “for Tango” label at the end of their respective titles. “Road Riot for Tango” is currently available on the Android platform and will launch on the iOS platform later this month.

If you haven’t already, you can download Tango through Google Play, and be sure to stay tuned to our official Tango page for the latest news and information regarding your favorite messaging app!
