It’s become a sort of monthly ritual for Vonage to release bug fixes and updates to its mobile calling application. So far, the updates have been happening at steady intervals toward the end of each month, as we saw in May’s update as well as the update last month.
This is, of course, a very good thing. Bugs and performance issues are among the biggest problems facing app developers today, and they’re even more prominent on Android than they are on other mobile operating systems due to the large array of smartphones and tablets available that are powered by Google’s OS. In addition, Android suffers from a well documented fragmentation problem with a host of different Android versions currently available. Developers have to contend with keeping their apps working on older versions while making sure they keep up with the new.
Vonage has been doing an excellent job with this, and their recent batch of bug fixes proves that patching and fixing is a constant reality for every developer. So far, these bugs appear to be very minor, as we haven’t experienced issues even before the most recent release. Some users apparently have, though, particularly with random crashes on the Nexus 7. It’s unclear how many users were affected by these crashes, nor if this was among the bugs targeted. If you’re experiencing any issues, please let us know in the comments.
The new update is available right now on Google Play. Stay up to date on all things Vonage through our official Vonage page!
