Asha 210, WhatsApp phone, WhatsApp for Symbian

For those of you who have been anxiously awaiting the launch of Nokia’s WhatsApp-toting Asha 210 smartphone that was unveiled back in April, the company has announced that it is currently up for pre-order in India with online retailer Flipkart.

For those who aren’t aware, the Asha 210 is the first smartphone ever to have a dedicated WhatsApp Messenger button. The device sports dual-SIM capability for you international roaming enthusiasts. It also comes with a QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity and features a 2.4-inches QVGA (240×320 pixels) display with a 2MP camera, 32MB RAM, and 64MB internal storage, expandable by able to 32GB with microSD. All of this is powered by Nokia’s Series 40 platform.

The Asha 210 is available in Black, Yellow, White, Cyan, and Magenta color variants and comes with Nokia Xpress Browser which cuts data consumption by up to 90% according to the company. It’s also packed with a smorgasbord of preinstalled applications including Nokia Nearby, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, in addition to WhatsApp. There’s also a built-in email client and FM radio.

Most notable, however, is the fact that the phone’s purchase also includes a free lifetime subscription to the WhatsApp service, which normally sports a subscription price of $0.99 USD, so you can chat to your heart’s content.
