Telna, Telcom North America, 3U Telecom

This one nearly passed under the radar, as Telna Mobile quietly launched cheaper rates for India-bound users using its global cellular services.

The rates started as of June 11 and provide users with incoming calls at 30 cents per minute, outgoing calls to the United States at 28 cents per minute, outgoing text messages to the United States at 30 cents per message and mobile data at 1.47 cents per 50 kilobytes (kB).

As is always the case with international services such as Telna, though, the rates of outgoing phone calls and messages can vary based on the destination being sent to and based on the sender’s current location. As such, it is highly recommended that the carrier’s current official rates be referenced before utilizing the services.

It’s always great to see lower calling and roaming rates for international travelers, and Telna’s rate drop follows a continuing trend as we’ve already seen TravelSIM lower its rates and EU International Roaming charges lowering July 1, with an eventual death of roaming charges in 2014.
