Skype, Skype VoIP and messaging, Microsoft Free Internet Calling

Skype has been rolling out update after update for its apps across all devices as of late. The Apple iPhone is the latest on the list with version 4.8.

The new version makes it easy to switch between your headset, speaker, or Bluetooth device. If you’ve ever tried carrying on a Skype conversation for hours, you may want to switch to Bluetooth in order to give your eyes (and the eyes of your contact) a break from the video messaging. This new update should make that a little more seamless.

In addition, one-on-one chats now appear in the correct order, which will ease a lot of the confusion when continuing a conversation.

The new update also has a surprise for first time users wanting to take advantage of Skype’s 250 million subscriber reach: new introduction screens. If you’ve never used Skype before, these can certainly walk you through the basics. If you’re looking for something a little more detailed, you can also always check out our Skype tutorials.

Ready to download the update? You can find it in the Apple App Store.
