KakaoTalk for Windows Phone, Messaging Apps for WP8, Windows Phone applications

KakaoTalk has been quickly growing in popularity like most messaging apps and has been slowly but surely updating its application for Windows Phone to be up to par with versions on other platforms so its popularity on the platform can also pick up.

The latest update (version 1.8.0.0) adds a number of major features to the application, specifically surrounding the PC version of KakaoTalk. We’ll focus on the PC-oriented changes first. Obviously, the new version is able to actually sync with the PC version, a first for Kakao on Windows Phone devices. This includes the ability to match names on both mobile and PC versions as well as sync badges on both versions.

Kakao Account setups are also now able to be done via email now that verification emails can be received. This feature addition coincides with enhanced security for PC registration code messages and availability to manage settings for PC registration and remote log out.

Finally, extended version of stickers has been added, some bugs have been erraticated, and some performance improvements have been made. All in all, it was a pretty great update, and it’s now available in the Windows Phone Store!
