It’s no secret that the VoIP and messaging app space is exceedingly crowded. There’s a seemingly never-ending flood of new applications hitting the market, putting pressure on the more established frontrunners to innovate when there otherwise would be none. VPHO is another application that joined the ranks of the Voice/IM crowd last year.
VPHO offers users high quality video and voice calling as well as messaging over 3G and Wi-Fi networks. Like many apps in the same genre, VPHO offers free calls to users of the same application. In addition, it also allows users to make GSM calls for low rates as well as share files with one another. Video conferencing is also possible in the application; up to three friends or family members who use VPHO can join you in your conversation.
At the moment, the app is available only for Apple iOS devices and Android devices. It doesn’t have as many users as Skype or Viber, nor does it have a Windows Phone version yet, but it certainly packs a punch when it comes to quality.
