Skype Android Tablets, Skype for Samsung, Skype for Tablets

Skype, which has over 800 million users, has just received an update that doesn’t affect Android smartphones this time around, but rather the tablets running the operating system.

The VoIP and messaging app now allows Android tablet users to switch to “Classic View” mode from within the application. Classic view enables users to see contacts and messages with the old user interface and theme from previous versions of the calling and messaging software, perfect if you aren’t a big fan of the new look and feel presented in the newer versions.

Of course, this update also includes the usual performance improvements and fixes and includes features enabled from previous updates, including the ability to send pictures, videos and files to contacts and talk to Windows Live Messenger friends by signing into Skype with a Microsoft Account.

The new version of the Skype app is now available for download in the Google Play store.
