Right on the heels of competitor Skype, Japan-based Naver Corporation’s LINE App for Windows 8 has just received an update, though its update is much more minor than that of Skype.
The new update brings Portuguese language support to the Windows 8 and Windows RT compatible application, bringing the number of supported languages to six. The app for Windows 8 lacks a number of features that its mobile counterpart has, such as the newly-rolled out Play Avatar, games, and LINE Camera, among a large number of add-ons and features. Still, it’s a great alternative to Skype and if you use the mobile version in conjunction with the Windows 8/RT version, you shouldn’t miss the features too much.
The update was also accompanied by the usual round of bug fixes and improvements to enhance the overall experience and prevent crashes and other problems. The new version of LINE is now available in the Windows Store free of charge.
