Sony first announced its new Xperia E and Xperia E Dual smartphones back in December 2012 and they were first spied in leaked screenshots back in October. The company has announced that the dual-SIM version of the Xperia E is now available in the UK.
The Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich-powered phone touts a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 pixel resolution screen, 3.2 MP camera, 512MB RAM with 4GB of internal memory — expandable up to 32GB with an SD Card — and is powered by a single-core 1GHz Snapdragon processor. Of course, the phone includes features that are often considered “standard” nowadays, including Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth, and an FM radio built in. The handset measures 113.5 x 61.8 x 11 mm and weighs 115.7 grams and is powered by a 1,540 mAh battery, said to get up to six hours of talk time.
The phone will be updated to Android Jelly Bean later this year. The single-SIM version will be available later this month as well.
The Xperia E Dual is not yet listed on Carphone Warehouse as of this writing, but is available from British retailer MobiCity in black or gold for £179.99.
