More new features coming out of South Korea today; KakaoTalk has launched sets of Korean pop star emoticons that are localized for users in Indonesia, available in both English and Indonesian languages and bringing the popular Kpop emoticons to a third country after Japan and South Korea.
These sticker packs are similar to the same offered by NHN Japan in their LINE application and monetize the applications while providing custom options for their users.
The new update brings the five Kpop sets shown above to the Android version of the app and will cost IDR 3,300 (34 cen US cents). Users on iOS can recieve the emoticons but are not able to acquire them, while Windows Phone and BlackBerry users cannot yet receive them.
“Indonesia is one of the most rapidly growing markets for us, reaching a record-high message volume on 17th January 2013 when there was a flooding disaster in Jakarta. We hope the emoticon addition helps further enrich Indonesian users’ experience with KakaoTalk.”
Indonesian users also have a chance to get the emoticons for free by liking or following KakaoTalk’s social pages and helping share the news there in the next four days.
