If you’re aching to hold the new BlackBerry Z10, the first BlackBerry 10 device, in your hands, you won’t have too long to wait, especially if you’re in the UK. The device is set to go on sale tomorrow there.
As for other markets, Canada will see the device shortly after, and availability for the United States is set around March, though a specific date for these two countries was not provided as of this writing.
The newly-named BlackBerry company is also planning a full QWERTY keyboard device, the BlackBerry Q10, for release at a later date. The Z10 was unveiled in detail at today’s launch event, while the Q10 remains largely a mystery. The phone has a 720 x 720 display and closely resembles the BlackBerry Bold while the Z10 is largely different, though it hardly stands apart from what competing devices currently on the market can do. As time goes on, we’ll see if the new BlackBerry can truly be a competitor or if it’s nothing more than a last-ditch effort to save the struggling OS and company from eternal oblivion.
