As you are probably aware, Truphone released the newest version of their application last week. With the new version comes a great many changes. We’ve recently discovered that among them is a change to the Truphone website, which no longer lists BlackBerry and Desktop devices as supported devices.
Currently, as you can see from the screenshot below, there is currently only Android and iOS listed as being supported by the app, even though some users are still using the legacy app for BlackBerry and Desktop and (for now) you are still able to download the BlackBerry app from BlackBerry App World and the Desktop app from the Truphone website.
However, there is quite a bit of room for optimism. As you can see from the next screenshot, Truphone does make mention of Windows Phone (Windows Phone 8 version of the app anyone?) and also states that “a new version of the Tru App for BlackBerry will be released early 2013 with BB10.”
We’ve known of the simultaneous launch of the Truphone App for BB10 with the new RIM OS for quite some time, but it is nonetheless assuring to BlackBerry fans on Truphone to see the development and commitment to support in black and white.
