Google Nexus Smartphone, Android Nexus Device, New Nexus Phone

Google’s Playground event, which had been scheduled on the same day as Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 launch event, appears to have been cancelled. A brief statement sent to MarketingLand by Google confirms the cancellation was due to safety concerns caused by Hurricane Sandy:

“We are canceling our Monday morning event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy. We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more.”

A Nexus 10 tablet, a new Nexus from LG, and Android 4.2 were the big launches and announcements expected to be seen and heard at the technology event.

It is not yet clear when the Android Playground event will be rescheduled, but we’ll be sure to keep everyone informed and update the website accordingly with any new information as it becomes available. Stay tuned.
