With enough rumors to rival possibly even the Samsung Galaxy S III and the iPhone 5, the 10-inch 4G-powered version of RIM’s BlackBerry PlayBook has certainly been the talk of the town.
Vietnamese forum Tinhte has provided the first glimpse of the 10-inch slab, roughly the size of the iPad. It looks like an oversized version of the original PlayBook with a different screen aspect ratio — the new PlayBook trades the 10:6 display of its predecessor for a 3:2-esk ratio instead.
The slab will also support next-generation 4G LTE networks.
Some photos of the internal components and size comparisons have accompanied the rumor, so it can’t be simply dismissed, though it should still be taken with that ever-so-delicious spoonful of sodium chloride. The shots reveal a probable 26.82Whr battery and a SIM card slot (great news for international SIM users).
The recently leaked roadmap pegged the 10-inch PlayBook for release in Q3 2013, which implies that it could have been delayed with RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS.
