Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, New Version of Android, Develop Android App

Readers should take this rumor with the usual grain of salt, but it’s the kind of rumors we really love to hear. Our friends over at Sammobile say Samsung’s flagship device, which just reported hitting the 10 million mark in sales, is “almost ready” to receive it’s inevitable update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google’s newest OS version. According to the report, if the rumor does indeed prove true, the update could arrive as soon as August or September for Galaxy S III owners.

That’s not all that has Sammobile had to say. Along with the Galaxy S III rumor comes word that the continued popularity of the Galaxy S II has Samsung testing Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on that device as well, with the first round of tests on that device being a success. The Galaxy Note might also receive the update, says the source.

Neither of these rumors have been confirmed by Samsung, but we’ll keep our ear to the ground in our usual fashion (despite the strange looks we might get from passersby) and we’ll update TruTower readers with any further information as it develops.
