Tru SIM, Truphone GSM, International SIM Card

This one nearly slipped through the cracks, but it was announced in late June that Tru has signed a five-year deal with Cerillion Technologies’ CRM and Billing solution to support Tru’s current presence in three countries and its expansion into eight more regions over the next year.

London-based Cerillion is migrating Truphone from its legacy billing system to its pre-integrated product suite and will be implementing the Revenue Manager, CRM Plus, Service Manager, Output Streamer and Information Manager modules. Cerillion says its multi-country solution will enable Truphone to rapidly launch into new markets using a single centralized system, providing close integration with Truphone’s unique technical developments to enable the simultaneous management of a single GSM service across multiple network operators.

“Truphone has a simple premise for customers, but under the hood there is enormous complexity – in tariffing, in billing and in operations. We conducted a detailed competitive RFP and Cerillion emerged as the clear winner – it has the scale and strength to handle the complexity of our offering, and the flexibility to help us enter new markets quickly and efficiently,” said Colin Windsor, chief operating officer, Truphone.

What should interest current and potential Tru SIM users the most is Tru’s plans to expand into eight new regions this coming year. Tru SIM has been spinning its wheels as far as expansion for quite some time, and eight new regions may not quite make up for the lost time, but it’s certainly a great start.

Tru hasn’t announced which regions would see the Tru SIM launch — nor if these regions would get reduced rates and local numbers or only one of the two — but we have a pretty good idea of at least two of these regions and we’ll keep pressing our sources for any confirmations.
