If you’ve grown tired of rocking that Motorola Atrix on your global SIM card service, you’re in luck: the next Motorola Atrix phone has been revealed on the company’s website as the Atrix HD.
According to the listed specs for the new Atrix, users can look forward to features such as a 4.5-inch HD Colorboost 720 x 1,280 pixel display, 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, and will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Other features of the Atrix HD include an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, and 1080p HD video capture; 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi with mobile hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 LE+EDR, USB 2.0 and microHDMI. It has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (up to 32GB external) and measures 8.4mm thick with a 1780mAh embedded battery powering the whole device.
The phone will support LTE Band 04/17, HDSPA 21.1Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps, and 850/1700/1900/2100 WCDMA. This makes the phone, like its predecessor, perfect for roaming SIMs as it supports the necessary bands to be defined as a “world phone.”
The Atrix HD is powered by a 1780mAh embedded battery and measures 8.4mm thick. Motorola’s web site did not indicate when the device might go on sale,
The construction composes of Gorilla Glass and Kevlar fused to make the “business ready” handset, while the Atrix 2’s Lapdock 100 is listed as an accessory. There’s no word on a launch date or which carrier users can get it through.
